205 illustrations 163 in colour. Intro by Susan Sontag. 4to. Orig. bd. med vareomslag. 160 s. Uvanlig. The artist, Ven Lehndorff made her name internationally as the celebrated fashion model Veruschka, star of Antonioni's sensational film Blow-Up. In 1970 she met the artist and photographer Holger Trülzsch and together they began to use her body as a canvas on which to create a new and startling art form. In their work, Vera Lehndorff j body is denied its reality. It mimics another-a glamorous film star, a gun-toting gangster-chameleon-like it disappears into its surroundings, transformed into dead or decaying matter, sculpture, stones, trees. This disturbing yet utterly enthralling work is reproduced here for the first time in full colour, introduced by Susan Sontag, one of the most perceptive critics of our time, and with essays by Vera Lehndorff and Holger Triilzsch which reveal their method and rationale.
